Indoor Season Program

The 2008-2009 Indoor Season will begin November 18, 2008. Practices will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. See practice schedule for times and locations. Competitions are held on Saturdays at CU Boulder and the USAFA Cadet Field House. The USATF Colorado Association's first competition will be Saturday, January 3, 2009. The final competition will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 and Sunday, February 8, 2009. Some athletes will attend the Simplot Games which are held in Pocatello, Idaho or the Nike Indoor Nationals held in Maryland. This will be based on performances throughout the indoor season. Athletes are encouraged to compete in at least 2 but no more than 5 competitions. This is ample preparation for the Colorado High School spring sport season.

PURPOSE
The Speed T&F Indoor Winter Program is designed to enhance the athlete's power, as it relates to speed for any sport where speed is a critical factor. One of the primary purposes of this program is to provide an athlete with the foundation required to maintain proper running mechanics throughout short sprints, long sprints, and speed intervals. Athletes will also benefit immensely from the core strengthening, muscular endurance and energy systems training/conditioning. This is a great way to compliment your athlete's spring sport, maintain their fitness level and give them a competitive edge.
